Terms of Use for Kedovo

1. Who we are, and what these terms are

Kedovo (kedovo.com) is operated by Kedovo Technologies Private Limited, a company registered in India ("Kedovo", "we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and Kedovo for using the platform. By creating an account or using kedovo.com, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy (kedovo.com/privacy) explains how we handle personal data and is part of this agreement.

2. Who may use Kedovo

• Students under 18 use Kedovo through a parent or lawful guardian. A person under 18 cannot enter a contract on their own under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, so the parent approves the account with a one-time email code at signup, accepts these terms on the student’s behalf, and is the contracting party for anything the account does, including any purchase. If you are under 18 and no parent has approved your account, you may not use Kedovo.
• Adults (18 or over: teachers, parents exploring the platform, older students) accept these terms for themselves.
• Sign-in is by Google. You are responsible for keeping your Google account and your Kedovo account secure and confidential; anything done while signed in counts as done by you (or, for a student, by the household that approved the account). Do not share your account, and tell us at support@kedovo.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. What Kedovo provides

Kedovo provides CBSE-aligned study material for Classes 6 to 12 (notes, important points, solutions, flashcards, practice questions and more) plus an AI study tutor, which you can type to or talk to.

Some of Kedovo can be used without paying. Free access is exactly that — access we choose to give, not something you have bought. Which resources are open to a free account, and how much of them may be used in a day, are set out on the plans page and are decided by us. We may change them, reduce them, meter them, or move any of them to a paid plan at any time, for everyone or for new accounts only. Nothing on a free account is guaranteed to stay free, and nothing on kedovo.com is a promise that a particular resource will remain available without payment.

Paid plans are different, because you have paid for them. What a plan includes, its price, and how its allowances are counted — as a number of questions, or as time — is stated on the plans page. We may change what a paid plan includes in future, but a reduction to a plan you are already inside applies from your next renewal and not during a period you have already paid for; if we withdraw something material from a paid plan mid-period, the discontinuation refund in section 7 applies. Features marked "coming soon" are goals, not promises.

A spoken question counts as one question, exactly like a typed one. Where an account has a single daily allowance, typing and talking both come out of it, so you can ask your questions either way or in any mix.

Talking to the tutor needs a signed-in account, a working microphone, permission from your browser and a live internet connection. It is not available to guests. Voice uses noticeably more data than typing, and any charges from your mobile operator are yours.

4. Acceptable use

Use Kedovo for your own (or your child’s) study. You agree not to:

• copy, reproduce, store, republish, redistribute, sell, rent, sub-licence or create derivative works from Kedovo’s study material, or scrape or bulk-download it; downloading or viewing content does not transfer any ownership in it;
• share your account or login with others, or let more than the approved household use it;
• attempt to bypass usage limits, plan restrictions or security measures;
• use the AI tutor to generate harmful, abusive, unlawful or off-platform content, or attempt to make it act against its purpose;
• use the talk button to record anyone but yourself. Ask your own question. Do not hold the button to capture another person’s voice, a conversation, a classroom or a television, and do not record a person who has not agreed to it;
• use the tutor’s spoken answers as a general text-to-speech service, or record, publish, redistribute or imitate the tutor’s voice;
• impersonate others, misstate your age at signup, or use another person’s payment details without authority;
• upload or submit anything unlawful, infringing or that you do not have the right to submit;
• interfere with the platform’s operation (probing, overloading, disrupting).

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, or that provide false information, with a refund only where section 7 provides one.

5. Your questions and the AI tutor

When you ask the AI tutor a question — by typing it, or by holding the talk button and speaking it — you give us the permission needed to transmit and process that question through our AI provider to generate your answer, and to operate and secure the service. Speaking works like this: the microphone is live only while you hold the button, never before it and never between turns; the recording of that one utterance is sent to our speech provider to be turned into text, and the text is what reaches the tutor. We do not keep the recording. A call continues until you end it or the page reloads. You keep any rights you have in what you type or say; we claim no ownership of it. You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it, including that you are asking your own question and have not recorded anyone else. How all of this is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

The tutor, and much of Kedovo’s study material, are generated by AI and checked by quality processes. AI can still be wrong, incomplete or oddly phrased. Talking adds two more ways it can go wrong: the tutor may mishear you, particularly in a noisy room or when you mix languages, and it may mispronounce a word or a formula. The written answer in the chat is the record — where the spoken and the written answer differ, the written one is what we stand behind. The tutor’s voice is generated by software: it is not a recording of a teacher, and there is no person on the line. The tutor is an educational aid: it does not replace teachers, schools or textbooks, and it is not professional advice of any kind. For exams, the NCERT textbook and your teachers are the final word. We are grateful for reports of wrong answers at support@kedovo.com and fix them.

6. Paid plans, billing and renewal

• Prices are in Indian Rupees. What you see is what you pay, with no tax added at checkout: Kedovo’s aggregate turnover is within the exemption limit under Section 22 of the CGST Act 2017, so we are not GST-registered and charge no GST. A commercial invoice is issued for every payment and available on your Account page.
• A parent completes every purchase on a student account, confirmed by a one-time code; a student cannot buy a plan alone.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store card, UPI or bank details.
• Daily allowances — typed questions, spoken questions and any other metered resource — are stated on the plans page, and may be counted as a number of questions or as time. We may adjust them as we learn what the service costs; a reduction to an allowance on a plan you have already paid for is a material change and is notified under section 19 before it applies to you.
• The monthly plan renews automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. We will notify you of any price change before it applies to your renewal.
• The annual plan and the Exam Pass are one-time purchases for a fixed period. They do not auto-renew; they simply end, and we tell you by email before they do.
• If a renewal payment fails, we keep the plan active for a short grace period and tell you, so a bank hiccup does not interrupt studying. If payment still does not arrive, the account moves to the free plan; nothing is deleted.
• The one plan change we offer is monthly to annual. It applies immediately, is charged that day, and the unused part of the month you have already paid for is converted to value and added as extra days. Other changes are not available; where a change cannot be made, the plans page tells you the date it becomes available.
• Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.

7. Cancellations and refunds

• Cancel anytime from the Account page, no calls, no forms. After cancelling, the plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and then the account moves to the free plan. Your progress is never deleted for not paying.
• We do not offer pro-rata refunds for the unused part of a billing period, and cancelling does not refund the current period.
• Genuine payment errors are always refunded: if you are charged twice for the same period, or money is taken but the plan does not activate, tell us at support@kedovo.com and we will refund the erroneous charge to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days of confirming it.
• If we permanently discontinue a paid service you have paid for, we refund the unused portion, pro-rata.
• Refund requests and payment complaints follow the grievance process in section 14, with the same committed timelines.

8. Content and ownership

Kedovo’s study material, software, design and branding belong to Kedovo Technologies Private Limited or its licensors. NCERT textbook questions belong to NCERT; our solutions and explanations are our own work. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the material for your own (or your child’s) study while you have an account. Your progress data is yours; you give us the licence needed to store and display it back to you, and nothing more.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely to improve Kedovo, without any obligation to you and without making them confidential. We are of course grateful for them.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Kedovo available around the clock but do not promise uninterrupted service; maintenance, outages and events beyond our control happen. We continuously improve the product; features may change or be replaced. If a change would remove something material from a paid plan mid-period, section 7’s discontinuation refund applies to it.

Some features carry their own limits so that one day’s costs cannot run away with the service. Talking to the tutor is one of them: as well as the daily allowance on your plan, there is a ceiling on how much voice the whole of Kedovo uses in a day. If that ceiling is reached, voice rests until the next day and the app tells you so. The typed tutor is never affected by it and keeps working normally. Voice is a newer part of Kedovo and may also be unavailable while we are working on it; if it were withdrawn permanently from a plan you have paid for, the discontinuation refund in section 7 applies.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Kedovo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent Indian law allows, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that AI answers or study material will be accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose, that speech recognition will hear you correctly, that the spoken answer will be pronounced correctly, or that using Kedovo will produce any particular exam result. Talking to the tutor is hold-to-talk, one question at a time: it is not a telephone call, you cannot talk over the tutor, and it depends on your device’s microphone and your connection, neither of which we control. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under Indian law.

12. Ending the relationship

You can delete the account at any time (Account → Delete account; a parent code confirms it for student accounts; a 7-day undo window follows, as described in the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of section 4, for legal reasons, or with reasonable notice if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature survive (ownership, feedback, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, disputes) survive.

13. Your responsibility to us (indemnity)

If your misuse of Kedovo, your breach of these terms, or content you submit causes a third-party claim against us, you (or, for a student, the parent who approved the account) agree to reasonably cover the direct costs we incur from that claim, to the extent it results from your actions. This does not apply to anything caused by us.

14. Grievances and complaints

Our Grievance Officer for all complaints (service, billing, content or conduct), appointed under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules:

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 15 days. Privacy-specific grievances can additionally be escalated to the Data Protection Board of India, as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Liability

Kedovo is a study aid supplied at consumer prices, and our liability is capped accordingly. To the maximum extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses (such as exam results, lost opportunities, or data loss caused by events outside our control), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event, or ₹1,000 for free accounts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that Indian law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

16. Force majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as internet or hosting outages, power failures, natural events, or acts of government.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you hold as a consumer to approach a consumer forum where you live.

18. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Kedovo about the platform. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor or affiliate (for example, on a restructuring), without reducing your rights.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and the law evolve. Material changes (anything affecting money, children, or your rights) are notified by email to the account (for students, to the parent) before they take effect. Continuing to use Kedovo after a change means you accept it; if you do not, you can cancel and delete the account as above.
