CBSE Class 11 Commerce Chapter List 2026-27: Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics

8 October 20265 min readKedovo Blog

Class 11 Commerce is where most students meet accounting for the first time, and it is the foundation for everything in Class 12. Accountancy starts from the basic accounting equation, Business Studies introduces how businesses are organised, and Economics is taught from two books: Statistics for Economics and Indian Economic Development.

Here is every chapter, book by book.

Accountancy: Financial Accounting Part 1

Accountancy: Financial Accounting Part 2

Journal entries (Recording of Transactions) are the base of every later chapter in both years. If they are not yet automatic, practise them before moving on.

Business Studies

Economics: Statistics for Economics

Economics: Indian Economic Development

How to study these chapters

Practise accounts every day, briefly. Twenty minutes of journal entries and ledgers daily does more than a long weekend session. The aim is speed and accuracy, which only come from repetition.

Learn statistics by doing. Mean, median, correlation and index numbers are calculation chapters. Work through the NCERT exercises with a calculator rather than reading the solved examples.

Connect Indian Economic Development to the news. Its chapters on reforms, employment and rural development make far more sense when you can link them to something current, and examiners reward answers that do.

Everything in one place

Each chapter linked above has its own page on Kedovo with the resources published for it: chapter notes (every subject except Maths), step-by-step NCERT solutions, flashcards, extra questions with model answers, MCQs, assertion and reason questions and case study questions, plus an AI tutor that already knows which chapter you are on. Chapter notes are free to read without an account.
