CBSE Class 10 Chapter List 2026-27: Maths, Science and Social Science

8 October 20266 min readKedovo Blog

Class 10 is the first board year, and from 2026 it is also the first year with two board exams (our guide to the two-exam system explains how they work). The books themselves have not changed: Class 10 still uses the NCERT textbooks as rationalised in 2023, so the chapter list below is the one your exam is set from.

Here is every chapter, book by book, each linked to its notes, NCERT solutions and practice on Kedovo.

Class 10 Maths: all 14 chapters

Algebra (chapters 2 to 5) and trigonometry (8 and 9) carry the most marks between them. Probability and statistics are short chapters but reliable scorers, so do not leave them for the last week.

Class 10 Science: all 13 chapters

The book mixes chemistry (1 to 4), biology (5 to 8 and 13) and physics (9 to 12). The board paper does too, so revise all three rather than specialising.

Class 10 History: India and the Contemporary World II

Class 10 Geography: Contemporary India II

Geography questions often come with a map. Practise locating the features each chapter names, not just reading about them.

Class 10 Political Science: Democratic Politics II

Class 10 Economics: Understanding Economic Development

How to study these chapters

Finish the NCERT exercises first. Board questions are written from the textbook, and a large share of them are close to the end-of-chapter exercises. Solve them yourself before checking a solution.

Practise the newer formats. About half the paper is now competency-based: MCQs that test understanding, assertion and reason questions and case study questions. They reward knowing why, not only what.

Use previous year questions chapter by chapter. Doing a chapter's past board questions right after revising it tells you which parts the board actually asks about. Kedovo has Class 10 previous year questions chapter by chapter and as full papers.

Everything in one place

Each chapter linked above has its own page on Kedovo with the resources published for it: chapter notes (every subject except Maths), step-by-step NCERT solutions, flashcards, extra questions with model answers, MCQs, assertion and reason questions and case study questions, plus an AI tutor that already knows which chapter you are on. Chapter notes are free to read without an account.

You can also browse by subject: Class 10 Maths, Class 10 Science, Class 10 Social Science and all of Class 10.
